The Open Finance environment offers a robust and consistent structure for calculating account balances, considering that all movements occur through transactions. As financial institutions are obliged to send detailed information on each transaction, the balance calculation is generally quite accurate.
However, there are exceptions. Some accounts show an increase in balance without a transaction being recorded, as is the case with Automatic Applications offered by institutions such as Itaú and Bradesco. In these accounts, the balance movement from the current account to the investment account occurs automatically, but the transactions that represent this transfer, such as “APLIC APLIC AUT MAIS”, are not sent by the institutions. Only the income generated by these investments is posted directly to the current account.
To clarify this issue, we contacted the team responsible for the Open Finance data schema, who confirmed that this behavior complies with current guidelines. However, to date, there is no specific functionality in Open Finance to display these details automatically.
This point has already been reported to those responsible for the Open Finance guidelines and is being monitored. It is expected that this issue will be discussed in the coming quarters, with the aim of improving the transparency and accuracy of the information.
